Plastering

From £14 m².

Plastering work varies in cost depending on the technique and finish required. Here’s a simple breakdown, from budget-friendly to more premium options:

Skim Coating – The most affordable option, this involves applying a thin layer of plaster over existing walls for a smooth finish. Ideal for minor touch-ups.

Two-Coat Plastering – A mid-range choice where a base coat is applied for strength, followed by a smooth finishing coat. Perfect for uneven surfaces.

Decorative Plastering – A step up in cost, this includes textured finishes like Venetian plaster or roughcast, adding style as well as durability.

Lime Plastering – A premium option used in heritage or eco-friendly properties. It’s breathable, flexible, and great for moisture control.

Polished & Venetian Plaster – The most luxurious finish, offering a high-end, marble-like look. It’s labour-intensive but adds a stunning aesthetic.

Rendering

From £33 m².

Rendering enhances the look and durability of exterior walls, with options to suit different budgets. Here’s a breakdown, from the most affordable to high-end finishes:

Sand & Cement Render – The most budget-friendly choice, offering a basic, durable finish. It requires painting for weather protection.

Monocouche Render – A mid-range, one-coat system available in various colours. It’s low-maintenance and more resistant to cracking than traditional renders.

Acrylic Render – Slightly more expensive, this flexible, weather-resistant option includes added polymers to prevent cracks and improve longevity.

Silicone Render – A premium choice, highly breathable and self-cleaning, making it ideal for modern homes and long-term performance.

Insulated Render (EWI – External Wall Insulation) – The most costly option, combining insulation with render for superior energy efficiency and weather protection.

The right render depends on your budget, maintenance preference, and insulation needs.
